The system requires a 1-inch water line connection for tempering and a drain line with an air gap from the relief valve connection for discharge. An RPZ (Reduced Pressure Zone) valve, supplied by Eagle, is also a required component to be installed by a plumbing contractor.
No, the integral water tempering system operates with a mechanical temperature sensor and does not require an electrical connection for its function.
The RPZ valve must be installed by a plumbing contractor, mounted a minimum of 12 inches above the trough's flood level. It must be easily accessible for periodic testing and servicing and should never be installed in concealed locations or above the ceiling.
The Cool Trough system includes a removable perforated basket designed to catch solid debris and prevent it from entering and clogging the main drainage system. The trough's built-in pitch also aids in efficient waste removal.
The rough-in hole for the trough itself should be 21.25 inches wide, 48 inches long, and 4.25 inches deep. For the plumbing compartment, the rough-in should be 33.375 inches wide, 14.75 inches long, and 11.25 inches deep.
