No, this system features an integral mechanical temperature sensor that automatically tempers water without the need for any electrical connection, simplifying its installation and use.
The system utilizes anti-slip gray fiberglass subway-style grating. This material and design provide enhanced safety by reducing slippage and ensure effective drainage of liquids.
The Cool Trough® includes a shutoff valve and two pressure check valves. An RPZ valve is supplied by Eagle but is intended to be installed by a plumbing contractor as a separate component.
The unit is designed for installation in a recessed concrete slab. An RPZ valve (supplied by Eagle) must be mounted at least 12 inches above the trough flood level and be easily accessible for testing and service, and should not be mounted above the ceiling. Local building and plumbing codes must always be consulted prior to installation.
The backflow preventer (RPZ valve) must be tested periodically in compliance with local codes, at least once per year. The removable perforated basket should also be regularly cleaned to prevent blockages.
