The Cool Trough® Water Tempering System is designed to safely temper drain water to comply with local plumbing codes, often required for high-temperature dish machine discharge, preventing damage to plumbing systems and ensuring safety.
No, this system features an integral mechanical temperature sensor that automatically tempers water without the need for an electrical connection.
An RPZ (Reduced Pressure Zone) valve, supplied by Eagle Group, is required and must be installed by a plumbing contractor. It should be mounted at least 12 inches above the trough's flood level and be easily accessible for testing and service.
For the 24" wide, 96" long model, the trough rough-in hole should be 21.25" wide x 96" long x 4.25" deep. The plumbing compartment rough-in should be 33.375" wide x 14.75" long x 11.25" deep, with specific placement instructions for F, G, and L dimensions provided in the installation sheet.
The backflow preventer assembly must be tested periodically in compliance with local codes, but at least once per year. Refer to Watts instruction sheets (IS-TK-DP/DL, IS-TK-9A, IS-TK-99E, IS-TK-99D) for field testing procedures.
