To switch from heating to cooling, first turn the master switch to 'OFF', remove serving pans, drain any hot water completely, then turn the selector switch to 'COLD', and finally turn the master switch to 'ON'. Note that a safety device will prevent the cold cycle from energizing until the liner temperature is 120 degrees Fahrenheit or below.
The WCM-HP-2 requires 120 Volts and 30 Amps. It is supplied with a 30 Amps. 120 Volt plug. Always refer to the data plate on the compressor housing for specific amperage and voltage information and use a licensed electrician for power source installation.
Yes, it is recommended that the operator side of the counter be completely open for air circulation. If installing in an island counter where this is not possible, two grill openings (approximately 18” x 18” each) should be provided at opposite ends of the counter for intake and exhaust.
During the heating cycle, the immersion heating element must be completely submerged in water at all times. Always check the water level before heating operation and approximately every 4 hours of continuous use. Failure to keep the element submerged will void the warranty.
To clean, use soapy warm water and rinse thoroughly to remove all residues. Never use chloride-based products, steel wool, or abrasive materials, as these can scar, mark, or corrode the pans and unit. The condenser coil should be cleaned regularly, and the heater sheath periodically cleaned of lime or other built-up material to prevent overheating.
