Manufacturers publish two numbers that sound the same but aren't. Peak HP is what the motor briefly hits under lab conditions — usually with a locked rotor, for a fraction of a second. - Blade BB340S ($360): the classic bar blender. 1 HP, 48oz stainless container, two speeds. This is the unit behind ten thousand American bars pouring frozen margaritas and daiquiris. If your menu is cocktail-driven and you're not doing dense smoothies, this is the right tool.
